It is a three-year
full time diploma course which focuses on imparting knowledge of on-the-job
training to the students in animal care, management and breeding. It
basically focuses on nutrition, breeding, management, breeding, diseases,
genetics and hygiene. The students are
selected based on the merit in 10th SSC board who must have passed 10th
examination with an aggregate of at least 45% marks in five main subjects like
Gujarati/Local language, Science/Science and Technology, Mathematics, Social
Science and English as compulsory subjects from Gujarat Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) or from schools of Gujarat with other
recognised board like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for
the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), National Institute of Open
Schooling (NIOS) and International Board. 5% relaxation is also given to the
students of the reserved category. The future job
profiles in which students can continue their career after completing a diploma
in animal husbandry course are employment in veterinary clinics, private or
government veterinary hospitals, as dairy farm manager, Animal Husbandry Supervisor,
Animal Husbandry Clerk, Veterinary Assistant and can also get employed in race
clubs, stud farms, dairy farms, poultry farms etc.
Diploma in Animal Husbandry Admission Process
Admission
to this course will be done by Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar based on the
candidate's performance in the qualifying Class 10 examination. The
various steps involved in the admission process are given below.
Registration: Registration date
opens up annually and announcements are made in advance by Kamdhenu
University by publishing advertisement in leading Gujarati newspaper.
Registration will be done online where candidate needs to create his/her
profile.
Filling up of
application form: Once a profile has been
created, candidate has to login and start the application process. Fill up
the application form with personal details, caste details and educational details
as mentioned in documents.
Scan and upload
documents: Documents like mark sheets,
photograph, signature and school leaving certificate must be scanned and
uploaded online to the portal. All documents in specific format and size will
only be accepted.
Application fee: A
minimal application fee has to be paid to process the application. Payment
can be done using online payment methods.
Admission: Colleges
take approx. 2 weeks to process applications. If a candidate meets the cut
offs and all other criteria then an admission memo is released.
